TIVERTON/LITTLE COMPTON

Located across the Sakonnet River from Aquidneck Island, the idyllic communities of South Tiverton, Little Compton, and Adamsville have grown as a charming summer resort area and peaceful residential retreat.   The Sakonnet River and Mt. Hope Bay form the western border and sandy ocean beaches are found in Little Compton at the far southeastern tip of Rhode Island.  To the north and east are Fall River and Westport, Massachusetts.   Although winters are cold, this coastal area does not receive the harsher storms and temperatures of farther inland.  Likewise, in the summer, ocean breezes keep the region cooler.

The area retains its bucolic and countrified ambiance with little commercial activity.   Today, real estate in South Tiverton and Little Compton offers ideal vacation and retirement locations with the traditional atmosphere of New England, complete with art galleries, antique stores, ball fields, marinas, beaches, farmstands, and the charming village of Tiverton Four Corners.
