Jim brings twenty years of full-time real estate sales experience to his clients. Prior to joining Gustave White in 2020, Jim was a top agent at a leading firm in the Washington DC metropolitan area. The core of his business was in Georgetown and other Northwest DC neighborhoods. Prior to real estate, he worked in financial administration at Universities and then with The National Association Independent Schools at their Boston and Washington DC locations. Born and raised in Newport, Jim is from a family with a long history of real estate, insurance and mortgage lending professionals. In addition to possessing the skills needed to be a successful agent he has hands on experience from buying and selling his own numerous homes and investment properties. Jim works with buyers and sellers in all price ranges. In addition to single-family sales, he has marketed and sold small commercial and multi-family properties and worked with developers in the sale of new condominiums and renovated single-family homes. Jim’s clients are loyal and often return for their next purchase and refer him to their friends, relatives, and business associates.
In addition to community volunteer work, Jim has held advisory positions at the Massachusetts State Scholarship Program and at TIAA-CREF Retirement Fund in New York. Jim is a member of the National and RI Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution and as such his knowledge of Newport History is strong. He resides in his circa 1850 home in downtown Newport which he has owned for many years. In his free time Jim enjoys swimming, woodworking and travelling with his Olympic-hopeful son to National and International Epee Fencing Tournaments.
